Are other colours available?
Bridle leather is currently only available in black, brown, burgundy and chestnut from our tannery. If other colours become available we’ll consider adding them to our range. Brightly coloured leather is inferior quality and not built to last, so we’ll never use it in our products.
How do I measure my dog’s neck?
Get a soft measuring tape and wrap it snug and high on the neck as shown below. Every collar is custom-made to the measurements you provide us with. Getting this right is the most important part of the process, so please follow these instructions. Don’t just measure your dog’s existing collar as it won’t be right.
Wrap a cloth tape measure around your dog’s neck as shown in the first two images below. Please note that it’s high and snug, but not pulled tight. Measuring this way doesn’t mean your new collar will sit high and tight on your dog, it should sit just right, with holes either side.
If it’s sagging and your fingers are under the tape then it’s too loose and your collar won’t fit correctly. But don’t strangle your dog either! Snug is good, tight is bad.
Why isn’t my dog’s neck size listed in the dropdown menu?
It’s neck is either too small or too big for that particular collar design. Please contact us regarding a custom order.

What are your care instructions?
Our goods are sealed and waterproofed before we send them to you. Avoid submerging in water – dams, lakes, the ocean and swimming pools. If your leather wares get wet or dirty just wipe them with a damp cloth and leave them somewhere to dry out. NOT in the sun or near a heat source. When dry apply conditioner to rejuvenate and preserve the leather. Even if your pieces don’t get wet, rub some Ruthless Leather conditioner into them every few months to keep them supple and water resistant.
Are your collars suitable for protection work and dog sports such as schutzhund/IPO?
Our collars are made to withstand the best that any dog can give in day-to-day use. However, for safety’s sake we would not recommend using one of our non-working collars for high impact work such as bite work and protection work. If you require a working dog collar we can modify any of our designs to be suitable for this, but you need to let us know when you’re placing your order.
What does bespoke mean?
